Secret Proposal Isle of Skye Andrew & Georgia

This one was a long time in the making with numerous emails between myself and Andrew. They came all the way over from Australia for a visit to Dunvegan Castle for the gathering of the McLeod’s. Georgia is a family member and has travelled to Skye before to attend the event although this time she was in for a big surprise! Andrew had chosen Neist Point as the special place he wanted to get down on bended knee and propose. I was hidden behind a rock as they passed by and through photos we had exchanged before the date were able to recognise one another. As you will see on the slideshow he knew who I was and I followed at a discreet distance until he chose the spot and the emotional part began.  She said ‘Yes’ straight away. What a great afternoon we had together and the weather was kind enough to allow us to take some more images along the pathway..

I had a good year in 2023 on the Isle of Skye photographing Secret Proposals and Elopements. Couples have travelled from all over the world to Skye with the express purpose of the future Groom proposing to the future Bride. In all cases I have to hide myself behind whatever bush I can find and record the event from a long telephoto lens until the moment she says ‘I will’. So far there hasn’t been one that has said ‘No’ thankfully. Then after a lot of hugging and kissing and maybe some tears of joy my presence is revealed and we then continue capturing momentous images.   As you can imagine all this takes a lot of planning and many secret emails or messages between myself and the Groom. I cover the Scottish Highlands and Islands for Wedding Elopement Engagement and Secret Proposal photography and videography. My aim in every session I undertake is to make everyone feel relaxed, have fun, and capture the real person and to present images that delight.

Secret Proposal for Andrew and Sheridan Isle of Skye

Andrew was in touch with me some time before their planned visit coming over to the Isle of Skye for their Secret Proposal. Of course Sheridan had no idea what Sheridan was proposing to do, forgive the pun! We had a good chat about where to go so that I could hide reasonably well to take those so important photographs when Sheridan would say ‘I will’. So we decided on the waterfalls of Lealt and then a little bit further up the road to Staffin Beach. View full post »

Mathew & Gemma Secret Proposal Isle of Skye

When Mathew contacted me to say he wanted to arrange a secret proposal to his girlfriend Gemma I was really excited. He then told me he wanted to do it at Neist Point in November. Now I don’t know if you have ever been to Nest Point but it is a very exposed site. From March to October it is full of tourists which make it difficult to isolate a couple for their pictures. In the winter it can be extreme and if you are close to the edge of the cliff more than a little dangerous. We talked it through and Matthew really wanted that location so we decided to go for it. Ross & Rachel Wedding Clava Mains Daviot Inverness

Ross & Rachel Wedding Clava Mains Daviot Inverness despite restrictions of wearing masks was the most beautiful of days.  Like a lot of couples Ross and Rachel had to postpone their original date for the wedding but eventually we got there. The Clava Mains event centre was a new venue for me but provided so many opportunities for memorable photographs, definitely a place I can recommend for Weddings. View full post »

George & Sabrina Balfreish Barns Weddings

George & Sabrina Balfreish Barns Weddings by Stephen Peters Photography.  What a gorgeous day and such a beautiful couple. George and Sabrina are Crofters and post regularly on Facebook.  They keep a stunning herd of sheep.  Now I am not an expert on sheep so I could not tell you what breed each type is. All I know is that they are in top condition. It was really good to be able to be with them on what turned out to be a superb day. George was worried about being in front of the camera but he was a true natural. View full post »

Michael & Sammy Inverness Wedding Photographer

Michael & Sammy Inverness Wedding Photographer was yet another fantastic wedding.  As you will see Sammy’s Dad got all emotional when seeing her for the first time in her Wedding Dress. The Bridesmaids were determined to make it a fun day and Sammy’s Mum was enjoying the endless supply of Prosecco. Well maybe that is a little exaggeration! Michael and his mates looked super cool in their tweed ensemble and what is more were ready on time when I arrived. View full post »

Thomas & Charlotte Isle of Skye Wedding Photography

Thomas & Charlotte Isle of Skye Wedding Photography.

Thomas & Charlotte Isle of Skye Wedding Photography what a fun packed day. When I arrived and went to see Thomas there was a distinct feeling of nerves in the air.  So we had to take a few shots first to get the ‘Boys’ in the mood.  It was very noticeable as the day went on that they all got into it, especially Thomas. It is not unusual for us to have to give quite a lot of direction at the beginning of the wedding day.  Thomas, after the first half an hour, took to it like a duck to water! View full post »
