Secret Proposal Isle of Skye Andrew & Georgia

This one was a long time in the making with numerous emails between myself and Andrew. They came all the way over from Australia for a visit to Dunvegan Castle for the gathering of the McLeod’s. Georgia is a family member and has travelled to Skye before to attend the event although this time she was in for a big surprise! Andrew had chosen Neist Point as the special place he wanted to get down on bended knee and propose. I was hidden behind a rock as they passed by and through photos we had exchanged before the date were able to recognise one another. As you will see on the slideshow he knew who I was and I followed at a discreet distance until he chose the spot and the emotional part began.  She said ‘Yes’ straight away. What a great afternoon we had together and the weather was kind enough to allow us to take some more images along the pathway..

I had a good year in 2023 on the Isle of Skye photographing Secret Proposals and Elopements. Couples have travelled from all over the world to Skye with the express purpose of the future Groom proposing to the future Bride. In all cases I have to hide myself behind whatever bush I can find and record the event from a long telephoto lens until the moment she says ‘I will’. So far there hasn’t been one that has said ‘No’ thankfully. Then after a lot of hugging and kissing and maybe some tears of joy my presence is revealed and we then continue capturing momentous images.   As you can imagine all this takes a lot of planning and many secret emails or messages between myself and the Groom. I cover the Scottish Highlands and Islands for Wedding Elopement Engagement and Secret Proposal photography and videography. My aim in every session I undertake is to make everyone feel relaxed, have fun, and capture the real person and to present images that delight.

Thomas & Charlotte Isle of Skye Wedding Photography

Thomas & Charlotte Isle of Skye Wedding Photography.

Thomas & Charlotte Isle of Skye Wedding Photography what a fun packed day. When I arrived and went to see Thomas there was a distinct feeling of nerves in the air.  So we had to take a few shots first to get the ‘Boys’ in the mood.  It was very noticeable as the day went on that they all got into it, especially Thomas. It is not unusual for us to have to give quite a lot of direction at the beginning of the wedding day.  Thomas, after the first half an hour, took to it like a duck to water! View full post »

Tom & Amy Isle of Skye Wedding Photographer

Tom & Amy Isle of Skye Wedding Photographer was a great day by the loch. All the lads, including Tom, were up for a laugh before the main event. Amy’s Dad was suitably emotional when he first caught sight of Amy in her wedding dress.  What a beautiful Bride Amy was though, no wonder Dad struggled to hold it together.  It is such a privilege to be with a Couple on their wedding day. Andy & Sarah Isle of Skye Elopement & Wedding Photographer

Andy & Sarah Isle of Skye Elopement & Wedding Photographer.

Small is beautiful and this small intimate wedding was truly beautiful.  After the wedding Andy and Sarah moved out to Australia so it was a bittersweet moment for Sarah’s daughter and family who we know will miss her a lot.  The ceremony was held in a discreet venue with all the guests mixing with the Bride and Groom before the actual ceremony.  It was delightful to be a part of something so special. Rob & Alissia’s Isle of Skye Wedding Photography

Rob & Alissia’s Isle of Skye Wedding Photography.  We have split Rob & Alissia’s wedding photography into two parts as there are so many photographs to tell the story of their day. Weddings in the countryside are fantastic at any time of the year but when the sun shines and the venue is a beautiful hotel leading down to a Loch it certainly makes our role as wedding photographers so much easier.  This wedding was last Sunday and we had finished processing all the images and uploaded them onto the private gallery by today.

Alissia then wrote the following message to us ‘We are extremely pleased with the photos. It just brings back all the memories from the day.  I felt like I was in a dream!  Thank you both so much it was the best thing we did having you as our photographers’.

Gold Award Fashion for Isle of Skye Photographer

Gold Award Fashion for Isle of Skye Photographer.

OK, I know this is my website dedicated to Wedding Photography and this is not a wedding photograph!  I did however feel very good when I received news this morning that we (Stephen Peters Photography) had been given a GOLD award for this fashion photograph we took earlier this year.  This was awarded by The Society Of Wedding and Portrait Photographers.  The pose and set up could just as easily been a wedding photograph so if you like the style we will give you a little insight into the photoshoot.

The location was Holbeck Ghyll Country House Hotel, so many thanks to all the staff at the Hotel who helped so much during the day.  The car was a Volkswagen Karman Ghia supplied by Clive from Lancashire Classic Hire Jaguar Limited.   Not a Jaguar this but a beautifully restored soft-top perfect for Weddings.  Make up and hair styling was by Sarah Louise Hewart and our model for this shoot was Millie.  My son in law Jody assisted on the shoot and in fact we had two other models with us on the day, namely Ginny and Bridie.

So there you go, head over heals that we have won a GOLD!  Whilst we are advertising everyone else’s involvement we would just like to promote our own photography business! We run full day one on one photography training courses starting at just £200 for the day, studio photoshoots from £65 per session and of course Wedding Photography from £500. So please give us a call.

Danny & Abi’s Elopement Photoshoot Isle of Skye Elopement Photographer

We set off on Sunday afternoon to meet Danny and Abi for their Engagement photoshoot deep in the heart of beautiful countryside.  They had travelled over from Malton Yorkshire the day before and stayed overnight, choosing to savour some of the delights of our landscape.  We will be travelling over to Yorkshire in September next year to capture their very special wedding day.  Abi is a giggler so some of the time we had to ask her to be a little more serious!  Danny is a Marine Biologist and has been working up in the Orkney’s for several months helping the Islanders build Lobster farms.
