Cumbria Wedding Photography with Ricci & Penelope at The Inn On The Lake Ullswater Cumbria

What a wonderful place to hold your wedding.  The Inn On The Lake at Ullswater has everything from fantastic scenery, a lawn stretching down to the Lake shore, a Bandstand to hold the ceremony, trips on a Steamer, great food in the Hotel and of course hard working staff.  We met Ricci and Penelope at the Inn On The Lake Hotel about a year before they were due to get married.  We arranged the Pre Wedding shoot which took place in and around Brathay near Ambleside the previous Autumn and then had a fantastic day with them on their Wedding day.  Ricci recently sent me the following email “Id like to take this opportunity to thank you for capturing our day so perfectly for us, the photos are over and above what we imagined, as you know we were spoilt for choice when trying to put them into an album”.  My pleasure!

Wedding Photographers Cumbria with Jules & MaryBeth on Pre Wedding Shoot

I realised going back through 2011’s weddings that I had not published Jules and MaryBeth’s pre wedding shoot to this website, so here it is!  As opposed to the original photoshoot I took the opportunity to play a little more with the photographs particularly in conversion to Black & White.  I realise that Black and White is not everyones cup of tea but there is plenty of colour photography to look at on other shoots I have done.  Jules and MaryBeth were a fantastic couple to work with and I think their love for one another clearly comes through on the photographs.  I hope you agree!

Wedding Photographers Cumbria with Steve & Lorraine in Windermere on Pre Wedding Shoot

A Pre Wedding shoot is meant to be fun, an opportunity for the wedding photographer and the Couple to get to know one another.  Absolute bliss for a Cumbria Wedding Photographer!  It really helps as well for the intended couple to understand how the photographer works.  It is totally relaxed because there is no time pressure.  At Stephen Peters Photography we include a free pre wedding session with every Wedding booked with us because we find it pays great dividends when we shoot the actual wedding.  So on this occasion we went out with Steve and Lorraine and had some fun!  Now your idea of fun may be a little different from Steve and Lorraine’s as they needed little encouragement to get soaking wet in the stream we found in Winster.  They actually chose these photos for their Signature Board.  For those not familiar with the Signature Board a short explanation. From the pre wedding shoot we usually produce around one hundred photos which we upload onto the password protected Client Area.  You then choose one of those photos to be printed and we produce a 24″ * 20″ print surrounded by a 4″ white card mount.  We take this to the wedding reception and Ruth circulates with all your guests and friends inviting them to write messages on the mount.  This is then left with you to choose your own frame.  We have found all of our wedding couples love them.  We also give you a DVD with the rest of the Pre Wedding Photographs on them.  Happy days!

Cumbria Wedding Photographers with Neil & Caroline at The Midland Hotel Carnforth Lancashire

So this was actually not a Cumbria Wedding Photoshoot but actually took place at The Midland Hotel in Morecambe Lancashire.  It was our first time at this location but it proved to be a photographers dream.  Neil and Caroline were a lovely couple to work with and so the day went very smoothly.  Caroline had arranged for a Jamaican beach scene backdrop to be set up so we were able to use our Studio lights and capture images of all the guests enjoying their night out as well.

Wedding Photographers Cumbria with Gary & Jill Pre Wedding Photoshoot

We met up with Gary & Jill at Sizergh Castle and Gardens in Kendal Cumbria for their pre wedding shoot.  If you have not had opportunity to visit the Gardens I can definitely recommend them.  You can easily spend a full day enjoying everything the attraction has to offer.  For taking photographs it is a wonderful place to be with so many opportunities for great backgrounds.  From there we went further downstream and found ourselves sharing a field with the local cow herd, one of which was getting a little too close for comfort as you can see on one of the photographs.  Regardless, we all enjoyed ourselves immensely and here are some of the results in this latest Cumbria Wedding Photography shoot.

Wedding Photographers Cumbria with Sam & Brogan Wedding in Kendal

We had a great time with Sam, Brogan and friends shooting their Cumbria Wedding in Kendal and Staveley.  They were definitely up for doing something different so we had a good hour with them after the ceremony to capture some cool images.

Cumbria Wedding Photographer with Neil & Caroline Pre Wedding Shoot

We met up with Neil and Caroline in Morecambe Lancashire for their Pre Wedding shoot and to check out the Midland Hotel where they were planning to have their wedding reception. It was a great afternoon although as you will see on the photographs very blustery.  They are both a real fun couple and it made the photoshoot very easy for us.

Wedding Photographers Cumbria with Ed & Sarah in Staveley

Ed and Sarah are due to get married on the last day of 2011 at Kirkby Lonsdale and we are really looking forward to it.  Despite saying they were camera shy we had no problems when asking them to get ‘loved up’ for the pre wedding shoot.  The weather was very mirky so we decided to go for a more urban feel which seems to have worked well.  They have already chosen their Signature Board from the set of images we captured so that has been printed and we will take that to the wedding reception for them and ask all of their friends and guests to write messages around the card mount.  This makes for a fantastic momento of the day.

Wedding Photographers Cumbria with Pre Wedding Shoot of Sam & Brogan

For this Cumbria Pre Wedding photoshoot with Sam and Brogan they were looking for something different with an Urban ‘edge’ to it.  So after a recon in the Kendal area we found a Scrapyard in Endmoor Cumbria and a graffiti wall in Acre Moss park in Kendal Cumbria.  Those locations set us up nicely for the afternoon and here are the results.  This by the way is the benefit of meeting up with Couples beforehand to understand exactly what style of photography you are looking for.  So if you are interested in Urban Wedding Photography, Vintage Wedding Photography, Documentary Wedding Photography or carefully posed Elegant Wedding Photography please talk to us!

Vintage Style Cumbria Wedding Photography

Here is the second set of wedding photographs in Vintage Wedding Photography style of Mike and Emma.  Hope you like them!  I am enjoying the peace and solitude of a Scottish Glen at the moment, taking photographs of Stags, waterfalls, lochs and valleys as well as coping with floods, cyclones and no electric.  I cannot recommend showering in freezing cold water!  We have one more wedding to photograph before 2011 closes so we are really looking forward to that and having a new set of wedding photographs to show you.  If you are planning on getting married in 2012 please give us a call because we still have a few dates available.
