Pre Wedding Photography Hilton Hotel Manchester

Chris and Sharon opted for a pre-wedding photography shoot in Manchester so we arranged to meet them in the really cool Hilton Hotel on Deansgate. It is many years since we have been into this part of Manchester and much has changed so it was a case of walking down streets and looking for great places to photograph. Quite a change from taking wedding and pre wedding photographs in the Lake District!

The staff at the Hilton Hotel were fantastic and many thanks to Damian for the help he offered during the photoshoot. Chris and Sharon get married in May at Broadoaks Country House Hotel near Windermere. So this photoshoot represented a real contrast to what we will be using as background locations in May.  There is a real emotional story to tell about this couple but we will wait until after the wedding to tell it.

Wedding Photographer Cumbria Miller Howe Hotel

Quite often when we look at an image we have no idea of the story behind it.  This is a story of courage, fortitude and determination.  I hope to tell it, with their permission, after Chris and Sharon get married in May at Broadoaks Country House Hotel near Windermere Cumbria.  For a Wedding Photographer Cumbria this shoot was one that Ruth and I really wanted to do.

Chris used to be the Chef at Miller Howe Hotel where we met up on a very cold Saturday morning. He is now Head Chef at the University of Cumbria based in Lancaster.  Sharon is a hard working Nurse who told me she is fed up of inserting tubes up mens private parts!

Because it was so cold we didn’t have much problem encouraging them both to ‘cuddle’ up.  This is in effect Part 1 of their Pre Wedding photoshoot as we are all due to meet up in Manchester in March to take some images around the viaduct and Hilton Hotel area.

Hampton Manor Warwick Wedding of Tom & Emma

We are really not quite sure where to begin with this Wedding of Tom & Emma at Hampton Manor in Solihull.  We could fill pages of text with stuff about the location and the Wedding.  As always though it is probably best to let the photographs tell more of the story.  So we will try and be brief!  Hampton Manor is a stunning location for a Wedding.  Set in 45 acres of grounds it is a beautifully restored Country Manor.  We could have easily kept Tom & Emma occupied taking photographs for another couple of hours. The ceremony room is decorated with hand painted silk wall covering and the bridal suite is the largest we have had the privilege to work in.  The food was outstanding as was the support of all the staff at Hampton Manor.  We would love to keep going back!

We got this email from Emma ‘They are so amazing it is unreal the work that you did. It means the world to me n Tom and will call you soon to sort out a cd of all the photos and an album that we want if that’s ok. I will pass your name on to every person I can as the work is outstanding!!! Thank you so much you have told the story of our wedding in photos and we will cherish them forever.’

As for the Bride she looked stunning too and although we think Tom is a little shy by nature he was up for anything we suggested on the day.  What is it about the Groomsmen that most seem to like to jump!  Well here is the complete story of Tom & Emma’s Wedding day. For our other photography, portraits, models, commercial etc please go to our website www.stephepetersphotography.co.uk.

Chris & Clare’s Wedding at Broadoaks Hotel Cumbria

Chris & Clare were married and held their reception at Broadoaks Country House Hotel near Windermere Cumbria.  This is a wonderful place to get married and I can do no better than quote their own description ‘Broadoaks Country House is the ideal fairy-tale venue to host your special day. Steeped in history, beautiful to view and magical to feel, you will never forget this special wedding venue. View full post »

Beautifully Vintage for Vintage Inspired Weddings

I recently photographed a Wedding at Broadoaks Country House Hotel Windermere and was struck by the dressings to the exterior and interior of the Hotel.  I since found out who supplied the vintage look and thought it would be a good idea to Blog the service.  Vintage is presently in vogue and as a wedding photographer we often produce a vintage feel to the images we produce for Couples. Wedding Photographers Cumbria with Stephen & Amanda at the Inn On The Lake Ullswater

This is part two of the Blog for Stephen and Amanda’s wedding held at The Inn On The Lake Ullswater Cumbria. They were a fantastic Couple to work with, being very happy to try anything we suggested including a cold dip in the Lake for Amanda!

We have a busy month again ahead of us with bookings for our Photographer Training Day, a commercial photoshoot of Classic Cars to be taken at Holbeck Ghyll Hotel and a Wedding at Barnard Castle in Yorkshire.  Just an extra word about our Training Days which are exceptional value.  We do a one on one day which can be based in our Studio or out on location or a mix of both.  If you research prices on the internet for these type of days they are typically between £500 – £1000 depending on the photographer carrying out the training.  For the rest of this year we are offering this service for just £200.  This fee also includes supply of models for the day and use of all of Stephen Peters Photography lighting equipment.  So if you want to improve or practice please get in touch.  We only have two days left in August and September is fully booked leaving some dates from October to December.

Stephen and Amanda Wedding at The Inn On The Lake Ullswater Cumbria

Stephen & Amanda were married at The Inn On The Lake Ullswater on one of those very hot days we were experiencing for once in our lives in the Lake District.  Amanda had chosen an Ian Stuart wedding dress which just looked fabulous.  Carrie Graham looked after make up which really looked good on Stephen, maybe just a bit too much red suntan!  Lisa Hill from Amici Hair and Beauty styled Amanda’s hair.  Gary, John and Kerri, the team at Inn On The Lake, made sure everything ran to plan as usual and Geraldine Ophide from The Wedding Studio made a really cool job of dressing chairs and tables.  There were too many interesting photos to do just one Blog so we will prepare another one in fairly quick order.

We are off to shoot another Wedding on Friday at Broadoaks Windermere, another stunning location and hoping the forecast stays dry. So to see more wedding photography tune in again next week.

Wedding Photographers Cumbria with Laura at Halecat House & Gardens

This is the second of three Blogs from Halecat House and Garden.  This one features Laura, who recently married, and works for herself as a Wedding Hairdresser.  Whilst we were doing this photoshoot Laura mentioned she had not got any detail shots from her own wedding so we made sure to include some in this blog.  There are of course many great places to get married in the Lake District and we have worked ourselves at many of them on behalf of Brides and Grooms.  Halecat offers something a little different as it is in a unique setting.  Their own description says ‘This elegant late Georgian House is beautifully placed at the head of an ancient wooded valley with wonderful views over Arnside and Morecambe Bay.  It is part of the Witherslack Estate at the southern end of the Lake District.  A very popular area for walkers and wildlife enthusiasts with glorious unspoilt natural mixed woodlands and many sites of Special Scientific Interest.  The House and Garden are now available for self catered holiday lets, events and weddings.’  I can only agree with their comments as it was a lovely place to photograph.  For Wedding Photographers Cumbria aka Stephen Peters Photography it turned out to be a great day!

Wedding Photographers Cumbria with Abi at Halecat Cumbria

There have been some hot days this last two weeks and this was one of the hottest.  I thought I was melting as I spent three hours in the midday sun photographing Abi and two other Brides which I will feature in blogs to come!  However it was a very rewarding day for us to show what Wedding Photographers Cumbria aka Stephen Peters Photography can do.  Several people made this a very successful photoshoot to help launch a brand new venue for Wedding Ceremonies and Receptions, Halecat House & Gardens.  Clive from Lancashire Classic Jaguar Hire Ltd brought along two really cool cars, a stunning red E-Type Jaguar and a classic ‘Herbie’ soft top.  Samantha Sharp from Harmony Beauty Therapy, a local business based in Cartmel, came along to apply some innovative make up which I wanted to be bold and colourful.  Laura Tyson, newly married herself, looked after hair styles on the day for three Brides who worked hard as I asked for them to set the poses making the most of our location. Roy from Lakeland Doves supplied, guess what, the white doves!

Steph, who is looking after the development of Halecat as a wedding venue, made sure that the House and Gardens were pristine and as these images show it is a beautiful location for intimate weddings.

Paul & Stephanies Wedding The Midland Hotel Morecambe by Wedding Photographers Cumbria

This was an event packed wedding at The Midland Hotel in Morecambe.  Whilst we were all waiting at the Church for the Groom, Groomsmen, Bridesmaids and Bride to arrive we heard that there had been a four car pile up on the Promenade and the stretch limo bringing the Groom and Groomsmen was stuck in the traffic jam.  Ruth and I had also had a car run into the back of us and reshape our back bumper as we were parking up at the Church.  Then finally, when the Bridemaids arrived, we thought the 1935 limousine bringing Stephanie would appear and then we saw afar off a Bride in six inch heels running up the road with her brother!  The limo had broken down!  We have to say though that Paul and Stephanie coped with it all really well and did not let if effect them one little bit.

The rest of the day went off without a hitch, other than Paul and Stephanie getting ‘hitched’, the sun appeared and all the guests had a fantastic time.  They were married at The Parish Church of St Barnabas.  The Midland Hotel, an Art Deco restored Hotel overlooking the sea, is a great place for a Reception and many thanks to the staff who looked after not only the wedding party but Ruth and myself as well.

Stephanie’s dress was from Ronald Joyce.  The flowers were supplied by TB’s and Blackberry Cottage Bakery made the cake.  It was good to see Madam Chocolat on hand to keep everyone energy levels high with very tasty Belgian chocolate.
